Mr. Cupit graduated Rutgers University, School of Law in Camden, New Jersey in May 1995, also earned his New Jersey State certification as a Mediator. He commenced his legal career by initially working in estate and tax planning before commencing practice in personal injury litigation in the Long Island area. He litigated hundreds of personal injury cases, handling trials and arguing appeals on behalf of injured claimants. He also handled and litigated Surrogate’s court actions and civil defense of New York City Housing Authority police officers. |

After more than four years of practice in the New York area, Mr. Cupit relocated to Washington, D.C. He began work with a law firm primarily representing injured railroad workers bringing claims against their employers/railroads under the Federal Employers Liability Act. In this practice he often handled complex issues while engaged in the practice of law across multiple state lines. |

In April 2002, Mr. Cupit joined an insurance and Federal Employers Liability Act defense practice. He defended insurance companies against lawsuits seeking damages for personal injury, as well as defending the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) against passenger and injured employee claims. |

Mr. Cupit returned to the south New Jersey/Philadelphia area in July 2003, where he joined a multi-jurisdictional practice in defense of mass tort and asbestos claims with a large Philadelphia-based law firm. He continued with the partners for whom he worked with when they started their own practice in April 2004. During this time, Mr. Cupit continued to represent asbestos/mass tort defendants, while additionally representing insurance companies primarily in the defense of motor vehicle and premises accident claims in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. |

Mr. Cupit started his own general practice, the Law Offices of Andrew T. Cupit, in December 2005. He continues to represent individual and business clients in all areas of the law and at all stages of the litigation process in every jurisdiction in which he is admitted to practice. |
